My Profile

Jeremy Chambers, also known by the sobriquet “Jerry”, is the first child of Reverend Major Canute and Marlette Chambers. During his formative years, he migrated to the United Kingdom where he acquired a wonderful palette of experiences before returning to his beautiful homeland, Jamaica.

His scholastic enthusiasm and endearing personality translated to both his school life and community involvement; accordingly, he left a particularly significant and long-lasting impact at the prestigious St. Jago High School in a number of areas. A passionate singer, Jeremy soon joined the Chorus group there where he eventually became the creative director and president. He was also a top debater in the Debating and Literary Society and challenged many sociopolitical and philosophical issues on a national platform.

Jeremy was awarded top student in the Caribbean for the Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Exams (CAPE) baccalaureate subject Management of Business- a derivative of the General Cambridge Exams (GCE). Following, he accepted to read for a degree in Marketing and International Business at the University of Technology, Jamaica. Whilst there, he held the position of Vice President of the university’s annual Marketing Symposium which attracts renowned regional and international speakers each year. Jeremy graduated in the top two percentile of his entire cohort having earned the coveted title of ‘Marketing Student of the Year’.

His first job would later become his ultimate passion: Jeremy was an educator at the Hutton’s Education College for five years and successfully achieved a ninety-four percent (94%) student pass rate each year. Subsequently, he held positions at the Registrar General’s Department (E-Business Officer), Hydel Group of Schools (Business Tutor), Covenant Insurance Brokers (Marketing Officer), and Restaurants Associates Ltd (E-Business Analyst).

Jeremy continued to excel at his passion when he was invited to take up a teaching position with the City of Gotemba in Japan, following the devastating 2011 Fukushima earthquake. He conducted numerous teaching seminars for Japanese teachers and participated in several teaching observations. Many of his classes have been viewed by the Ministry of Education in Japan, the Shizuoka Board of Education, the English department of Shizuoka University and members of the International Education and Research Corporation- the largest English services company in Japan. He has also been featured in several Japanese publications and commended by the Gotemba City Council.

In 2014, Jeremy was awarded a Master of Science degree in Marketing and Global Communications from the University of Liverpool and was once again bestowed the coveted honor of Student of the Year with a GPA of 3.92- his area of research focused on marketing to mature customers.

He then read for a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership and Management at the William Howard Taft University in Colorado, America and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education at The University of Plymouth, UK.

Jeremy is an astute and energetic team player who loves people which is why he excels at his two-fold passion: he enjoys the energy and fast-paced competitiveness of the marketing field but also has an unrequited love for education, specifically teaching. He is an avid powerlifter who enjoys working out with his friends, watching sumo wrestling and practicing judo.

Jeremy is an educational consultant and a lecturer at City College, Plymouth where he oversees the Chartered Management Institute’s (CMI) courses.
